Losing a baby is one of the deepest pains a parent can face. When grief feels overwhelming, it’s natural to seek comfort and healing in many ways. One source of profound peace and restoration for many is the spiritual healing offered through faith. Today, I want to share with you a warm and gentle exploration of how Jesus plays a role in healing, especially when your heart is tender and aching.
You are not alone in this journey. Together, let’s walk through understanding the healing power that can touch your soul and bring light to your darkest moments.
Jesus and Spiritual Healing: A Source of Comfort and Hope
When you are grieving, it’s easy to feel isolated and overwhelmed by sorrow. Spiritual healing offers a path to peace that goes beyond physical comfort. It reaches deep into your heart and soul, helping you find meaning and hope again.
Jesus’ healing is not just about curing illness or pain. It’s about restoring your spirit, giving you strength to face each day, and reminding you that your baby’s life, though brief, is precious and remembered.
Your grief may be because of a miscarried baby or grief after an abortion. While society doesn't discuss grief after abortion, it is real. Women who feel grief or regret often hide their emotions because women who have abortions aren't "supposed" to regret their decisions. It was a "choice" after all, right? The grief post abortion is proof that abortions aren't natural and simple. There's a lot that goes behind it.
Here are some Bible verses on healing:
Psalm 147:3
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
Isaiah 61:1
“He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted… to comfort all who mourn.”
Luke 4:18 (Jesus quoting Isaiah)
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me… He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted.”
Matthew 11:28–29
“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest… you will find rest for your souls.”

How Jesus’ Healing Touch Is Different
You might wonder, what makes Jesus’ healing so special? I lived my entire life without Jesus. I sought healing in Buddhism, Hinduism, New Age, "Spirituality." But, there's nothing that has been more transformative than healing found through Jesus Christ. There's several reasons for that. One reason is "Identity." Without Jesus we are trying to find identity in things of this world. To illustrate, answer the following question: Who are you?
How you answer that determines how you identify. But, we are meant to identify as daughters and sons of God.
John 1:12–13
“Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God—children born not of natural descent… but born of God.”
When you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you were given the right to become a child of God.
Here’s what makes Jesus’ healing unique:
Your Sins are Forgiven:
Mark 2:5–11 Before healing the paralyzed man’s body, Jesus said: "Son, your sins are forgiven."
Ephesians 1:7 “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.”
Personal Connection: Jesus meets you where you are, with love and understanding.
Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Healing Beyond the Physical: He restores your soul and gives you peace that lasts.
Matthew 4:23–24 "“Jesus went throughout Galilee… healing every disease and sickness among the people.”
Faith and Trust: Healing grows as you open your heart and trust in His care.
Proverbs 3:5–6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
Psalm 37:5 “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will act.”
You don’t have to carry your grief alone. Jesus’ healing invites you to lean on Him and find comfort in His presence.
